Her Beginning Pt 2

Dominick threw a quick glance at his daughter, and noticed that she was looking out the window of his truck almost sadly. He sighed before saying
"Hey Az, I really like it when you come with me" he pointed out. She smiled at him almost sheepishly; she liked it when he told her how much he enjoyed having her with him. But even that heartfelt line didn't cheer her up very much for once she was in the courthouse nothing mattered to him but his job, and getting paid to do it. Az sat there and quietly wondered to herself if things would have been different if her mother was still around. She didn't know much of her mother but what she did know was that her name was Serena and she was a very kind woman, but then something took her away from them. Her dad would never go into detail about her death, which she was fine with, but she still wanted to know how she had left them. Deep in thought about her mother she didn't hear Dominick.
"Az? Did you hear me? Earth to Az" he asked
"W-wha?" she looked at her father's worried face.
"Did you even hear me?" Dominick asked half in laugh. Az's face slowly turned a shade of light pink.
"No I didn't sorry dad" she replied, "what did you say?" Az tried to hide her sense of bore, whatever he had to say was probably about a new security guard item, from new cuffs to a new lie detector, she knew her dad, very well and she knew that he really got into his job.
"I said, did I tell you we have a new criminal coming in today?" he boasted "Gotham PD caught him....well actually he gave himself up but they found him in a dark alley they couldn't see what he looked like but he had some sort of spray an..."
"why would he be goin into Arkem if he vandalized something?? shouldn't that be for the jail??" Az butted in not letting him finish his sentence.
"let me continue Az" Dominick said "anyways when he was asked to put it down he started spraying one of the PD!" Az looked at him shocked. Seeing that he had finally caught her attention he continued, "anyways, from what I've heard after the strange green spray was gone the PD couldnt stop laughing." Az was intrigued, never had she heard of such a thing.
"What happened after dad?" she questioned him, wanting to know more about the interesting criminal "Well i guess some of the other officers tried to make the officer stop but they couldn't" Dominick continued "then I guess right out of the blue the guy said something like put me away officers! I'm too dangerous and then they hooked him up and put him in the truck" Az stared at her father in disbelief.
"Um dad? Aren't you forgeting something? What did the guy look like??" She questioned him. He sighed sadly before continuing
"Sorry but i guess they couldn't tell me, they said it was confidential" he looked at her dissapointed face "Honey trust me I'd tell you if I could."
"That's ok dad I know that you'd tell me anything you could, and besides now I can imagine what this guy looks like" Az said to Dominick. Dominick smiled and sighed happily, such an imagenation his girl had.
"That's my girl" He said proudly to her. Az smiled back at him and returned to looking out the truck window. She didn't look for long because soon the courthouse came into view. Her and her dad got out and headed up the huge stairs, Az was ready for anything now...
